“Classic burlesque” has had a bad rep of being labelled boring, but it’s far from it! Maple Rose, voted #21 in the 21st Century Burlesque Magazin’s Top 50 in 2021 & most Classic at the Busties in 2018, will guide you into exploring characterisation within the traditional burlesque style to create your own unique striptease character.

We will play around with clowning, narrative, dramaturgy, musicality and costuming within the realm of traditional burlesque dance styles as well as dive into the history books to find examples of iconic burlesque stars and explore how their onstage personas skyrocketed their careers.

Bring your dance heels, wear comfy clothes you can move in, and feel free to carry a notebook and pen. This workshop will comprise of theory and movement.

From beginners to advanced students, this workshop is open to anyone keen to learn more skills in the theatrics of burlesque.
